Not So Typical Tourist

We both bought City Of Rocks hats. Lynnette finally put hers on for a picture.

Twilight Picture.

I tried most every night to get a great sunset picture. I never got the one I wanted. This is a good maybe twilight picture.

Lynette & Buttons

Lynette had a couple of personal leave days she needed to use before school gets out. So we went for our first camping trip of the year. We have never camped before middle of May. I suppose you could call it camping. The campground was all paved & even the spot for your trailer. Full hookups & running water in the bathrooms. This was like The Sheraton to us.We went to City Of Rocks for the third time this year. We have actually been there in four of the five months thus far this year. We have plans for a Sharpshooters Photography Club field trip – camping trip in early June. Hopefully a family outing in July.

Massacre Rocks.

The first night we just spent the night a rest stop at Massacre Rocks. We could have gone on to City Of Rocks, but I though it would be fun to stay here. It was close to sunset time when we got there. So first thing I did was head towards the river. The sunset wasn’t as great as I wanted, but it was so peaceful & beautiful overlooking the river it didn’t matter. There is a state park at Massacre Rocks but we went for the freebee rest stop.

Fouth Day Of Spring

If you are wondering what happened to the third day of spring….well it’s a long story. To sum it up we went to Pebble Creek& had fun playing with the dogs. After we got home we realized we left Mandy at Pebble. Alls well that ends well. So the fourth day of spring we went to Shoshone Falls It was about a 3-hour drive to Twin Falls & 2 hours wait to go the last couple miles down to the falls itself. Due to the large snow pack they are draining the upper Snake River Reservoirs to make room for the spring runoff. So the falls is at a record level. It doesn’t last very long, so everybody drives from Boise & Georgetown to Twin Falls to see it.

Second Day Of Spring.

. Today, the Second Day Of Spring. we went from Soda Spring to Logan by way of Grace. The other picture I posted of the horse was taken on the previous trip that way, a couple of weeks ago. After leaving Logan we stopped in the canyon by the river & let the dogs play. It was a fantastic day considering it snowed all day yesterday. Once we were back in Gods Country I had to stop to take a picture of Bear Lake. I told Lynette I was going to go take a picture. She thought I was just going to stand by the road to take the picture. Well I had to walk towards the water down the beach for quite a ways. The water level is still way down. When I got back she said I was gone fifty-three minutes.

One Horse Town

My blog is much different than most blogs. Most people post pictures of their 6.3 kids on their blog. Most people don’t live near Gods Country to take scenic pictures. This was a picture I took several weeks ago. We stopped to take a picture of a buzzard feasting on road kill. Just across the street was this photo opportunity.

Return To Rock City

To celebrate the first day of spring we went back to City Of Rocks. It was a beautiful day & we enjoyed it a bunch! I even had a sandwich delivered to me in the middle of the rocks. Of course we took many more pictures, so if you want to see more of the place you have to go there yourself.

Ghost Town George Town,Utah

Over 150 years, the Yost Valley community has been known as George Town, George Creek, Junction, and Town of Yost. Beautiful Yost Valley, hidden land of paradise, is located on the north slopes of the majestic Raft River Mountains. Yost Valley is situated south of the popular landmarks, City-of-Rocks — within the once “Pacific Federal” transportation corridor. At least eight heavily traveled trails and wagon roads crisscrossed the region that became known as Western Frontier Crossroad Junctions. Roads included “Old California, Old Oregon and Great Salt Lake Cutoff” between 1848 through 1874.

City Of Rocks

The cool thing about the snow is it wasn’t everywhere it was spotty. Some deep some spots that were bare. Good thing there were some bare spots, so Lynette would venture down to get her picture taken.

City Of Rocks.

I was browsing the web site the other day when I seen that City of Rocks was open during the winter. As soon as I found out it was open I told Lynette we need to go there. I had never been there when there was snow on the ground. We had a great time just taking pictures.

Rocks & More Rocks

Another scenic view for your enjoyment!

Picture Pefect View

Scenic Cows

I always love to take picture s of cows. I climbed under the fence to go get some neat pictures. While I was crawling back out from under the fence I snapped this picture.

The Old Stone House

This is the old stone house on the way to City Of Rocks. I admit using Fast Stone Image Viewer to do some special effect on it. I have had so much fun with this building & Fast Stone Image Viewer. I have made a huge bunch of renditions of this place. I even got Lynette interested in modifing a few.

Lathe Projects

Here is a few of the pillar candleholders I have been making on the lathe lately. The ones on the right side are the more recent creations. Most of the creations I make I leave natural finish & some a light stain. Notice there is one black one on the table. I actually have several other black ones in the drying process. When I paint them I get a bit anxious for the paint to dry. Too much heat from the heat gun & ....oops the paint bubbles. So I have to work on them more.
After things sit about one day in the shop they soon become covered with a fine coating of dust. Candleholders have been my projects now for a couple of weeks. Starting tomorrow I am changing projects. I will be going back to making kerosene oil lamps once again .I ordered some different burners that use a half pint jar instead of the tin canister I used in the past. These will be a lot cheaper to make.
Lat week I cleaned up the shavings that have been accumulating by the lathe for a couple of months. I hauled 3 – 16 gallon loads of shavings out that day. Today I started on making more shavings.

Frosty Bear Lake

Not to make everybody who doesn’t live in “Gods Country" jealous but...........This was taken a few weeks ago during our foggy spell. The east side of the lake was clear, but the west side was socked in. We drive out by the lake just for something to do. Neither one of us likes to just sit around on Lynette’s day off. I much prefer driving out by the lake rather than drive to Poky or Logan. The drive to Logan is pretty but the Wal-Mart trap always sucks us in for about $100.bucks. I am trying to save money for my greenhouse & Wal-Mart does its best to keep me from saving towards it.

My CUTE Lady!

Lynette modeling some of her new clothes. About every time we go to a store she finds clothes for a good deal & she gets some. This isn’t even her Newest clothes. She even likes her picture taken since she has become so cute.

Zazzle T-shirt creations

This is one of my many T-shirt creations at Zazzle. I had some time to mess around on the PC so I designed more T-Shirts. As you know I am quite a graphics artist. Some designs I found a good tag line & a great clip art to go with it. Then I decided to get even more creative & combine different clip art & added some word art as a bonus. I am sure you will want to buy some of my great creations from Zazzle. Please feel free to do that. I make a small commission off each item. Last year I sold three items & mad about$6.00.
Do any of you have a idea for a great creation? I am sure I could design it for you.
